Vital Zone Target — Black Bear

Bear vitals sit lower than deer. Aim behind the front leg, in the bottom third of the body — a deer hold rides over the top of the heart on a bear, and the animal walks away.

How to use it

  1. Print at 100% and check the 100 mm bar.
  2. Note where the circle sits against the outline: lower than every other sheet here. That difference is the reason this one exists.
  3. A bear has no visible neck and a rounded back, so the landmarks that place a shot on a deer are not there. The front leg is the one reference that is.
  4. Long hair makes a bear look bigger than it is and moves the apparent centre up. Aim at the animal, not the outline.
