Vital Zone Target — White-Tailed Deer
A broadside outline with the heart-lung zone where it actually sits: behind the shoulder, about a third up from the brisket. Schematic on purpose — the zone is where to aim on paper, and the animal in front of you is what decides whether the shot is there.
How to use it
- Print at 100% and check the 100 mm bar. The sheet is reduced, so every dimension on it depends on that bar being right.
- The zone is 8 in / 203 mm at full size and prints far smaller — the sheet states both, so you know what you are shooting at.
- Practise the hold, not the group. A tight group outside the dashed line is the shot this sheet exists to prevent.
- Work out what your load does at the range you hunt — the calculator will give you the drop and the energy on arrival.
