Vital Zone Target — Moose
The largest zone on any of these sheets, and the one most often missed high. A moose carries a shoulder hump above the spine, so a hold on the top of the animal puts the shot over the lungs into muscle.
How to use it
- Print at 100% and check the 100 mm bar.
- The zone is 16 in / 406 mm at full size. It is generous, and the hump above it is what makes people miss over the top of it anyway.
- Read the outline as well as the circle: the bell under the throat and the hump over the withers are the two landmarks that place the shot.
- A moose is a lot of animal to stop. Run your load through the penetration calculator before the season.
