5.56 NATO 50 Yard Zero Target
The most-used AR-15 zero, on one page with both service loads. A 50 yard zero is shot for the far zero it gives, and that far zero is not one number: M855 from a 16 in carbine comes back to the line of sight at 205 yd, M193 from a 20 in rifle at 238 yd. Both are on the sheet, with the maximum rise in between.
How to use it
- Print at 100% — not "fit to page". The bar on the sheet must measure 4 in.
- Set the target at 50 yd and fire five rounds from a supported position.
- Count grid squares from the group centre to the aiming point: one square is one MOA at 50 yd, which is 0.52 in.
- Read the confirmation table for the far zero your barrel and load actually give — it is between 205 and 238 yd.

Computed by the BallisticEngine G1 point-mass model at 15 °C, sea level, 1013 hPa, no wind. Negative drop means the bullet lands below the point of aim. A different bullet weight or barrel length moves every number in this table — run your own load.
